PEW & THE PEOPLE

This portion of the PEW Internet site reviews public consensus of certain wide spread issues. As you seen in the top leg there is a line graph surveyed of global warming and do people really notices its effects. There is a clear trend of peopled becoming less and less convinced of its adverse effects.
When we look at the other chart it seems like a shotty piece of junk for a "credible information page." What I mean by this is the graph clearly relates to over 100 scores. It would be better represented in a percentage for simplistic understanding. The questions addressed are softball pitched answers. Although I do carry my own opinion on the Afghan War and the news covering it, it is my unbiased opinion to call this graph pathetic.
The top graph I found more interesting, about the US using military action towards Iran to prevent nuclear development in that country. Overwhelmingly every demographic surveyed in this article and graph support the use of force. The question now would be, why aren't we doing it?

Barack Obama Wins Peace prize
Why? This is stupid... I liked that the man became President, he is a good person. The only thing that has lifted this mans progress int he past 2 years is his skin color. I wish in this world that Stanley Ann Dunham where alive. For all you people who voted for him and do not know that name it is Barack Obama the first "black" President of the United States' mother. She is WHITE! SHE IS WHITE! SHEEE IS WWWHHHIIITTTEEEE!!!!!! AND she raised Barack Obama ALONE. He only seen his father a handful of times in his life. I could hardly see calling a many you don't really know "dad" regardless of genetics and doubt Barack associated his namesake with that honor.
Al Gore received the same award in present memory. What Al do? He took and idea on a cause that effected EVERY HUMAN ON THE PLANET. Not a handful, but every dammed, innocent, sick, happy life on this planet. This idea he exploited and made progress a realistic option for anyone who could make the smallest difference.
Barack had a great accomplishment but he has had a pretty lack luster year in office, he's not a hard nosed politician. He tries to unite people who pardon my French "don't give a shit" to change their point of view. Iraq has a remained a stagnant issue. Our economy is not moving towards progress in any direction. And when I say unite people I mean those along opposite party lines.
Mr. Obama you will never read my blog, but you have rode to office on an all black ticket. I will admit you never gave praise or voiced yourself in a manner to ever separate yourself from every member of the American Public. I even remember the tremendous show once you were elected with all different people performing if fact I watched it two times in a row. I thought it was an amazing moment in history and beautiful of a sight. Actually now that I think of it, I saw it with one of my best friends, a black man and of Muslim faith. Who has two HALF white children. He is proud of who he is and I am proud to have him as my friend. Never the less Mr. Obama, you have already lost my admiration as my leader... My family is of Italian decent I am second generation and I am proud of my roots. Never once did you say "hey , thank you but hold on a minute, I love the black in me, but I love the white too." Embrace that Mr. Obama, if anything that's what would make you a great uniter to the American people, you literally physically embodies both side that have been in terrible conflict in this country for far to many years. That is your too, but once again you effect the American people.....then, you can effect the world. Have you done that yet? You should have turned down that prize as you have not yet deserved that honor. You have maintained no great honor or contribution that a HUMAN has never done before. You are MY President and I am proud to say that, but sir you have not yet changed the world, so far you have not yet changed you're country.
Who should get the prize? I am not expert to say but I find there to be a few interesting people in the world with excellent credentials. Qi Zhou of China has taken non-reproductive cells and is now able to transform them into stem cells. Stem cell cause many major religious and moral complications when used in attempts to regrow body elements. This solves those issues by making any available healthy cell into limitless potential.
I'm just making a suggestion I by no means have the knowledge to determine this alone, but I feel this is research that effects every life on this planet with is progress...
With that said leave one last thing

Political news Sites
We viewed www.politics1.com/news.htm. It is a reference resource with the top national news stations in the country.
The first link I was very familiar with is MS NBC, it had the same face in their clips and story format you see every morning on the today show
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/33205719#33205719
Yahoo news new has a very clean lay out not over loaded. Clear clean headlines, and I often hear reference by other news show as yahoo for credited as the resource.
http://news.yahoo.com/politics
I chose something I am not familiar with, the Independent Media Center. It is small in type and hard to read but completely packed with content. Several sub-links offered in each article and about 7 languages. As independent it very much seems so...what i mean by this is it issues common found on other news sites. I think this is a great resource for like minded people of the site rather then the general public.

here is whats up with that graph
Its a break down of various ethnic groups, age ranges and social demographics on several Internet issues: Americans with Internet access, cellphone ownership and high speed Internet access.
Although many more people in the US own a cell phone over Internet access, the percentages between the demographics do not seem to be very far apart. Most likely because a cell phone is more affordable, accessible and has had more time to pick up pace then Internet.
The first thing is the obvious trend of education and wealth. The more money and education the higher tendency to be online.
College students continue to be the most active users.
English Speaking Hispanics have a very large percentage active online 80%. I would attribute this to multi lingual people being of higher intellect of a uni-lingual person.

PEW internet project
In class we observed the trends vin the PEW survey of how men and women, use the internet. This article seems to approach when men primarialy do online first and then relate the habits of women. It does give specific references to male use compared to women but it just says the same thing blah blah blah men do this online more then women. It was repeditive and I would think the survey a failure because it did not do and adequate breakdown of fundemental of internet use. Maybe if they popped in a few numbers, example: Men in America spend 5 billon of disposable income on home improvement items annually, while women spen 2.3 billion on shoes. So with that approach I find it interesting the men are more agressive consumers online then women. You would think with such access to millions of shoes and draperies women would go wacky spending online. Sorry for my sexus point of view. However if you review further study where men greatly outweigh women in technological field, on a laymens level men persue online use more agressively. It like cars women like they they drive them but when it comes to tinkering under the hood its a male dominanted field. As we discuss in class now... Sites seem to have a more neutral appeal overall. We viewed askmen.com which was clearly broad lines big pictures and strong colors very bold. Most sites women go to are private with the knowledge that men wouldn't actually go view it anyway.
catching up
So with out any success I have been trying to post from my cell phone and clearly it has not worked. I purchased a new computer today so this should be a good means to get my work accomplished. I set out to view bonding sites. Some I found carry both a fun, positive, and bad negative impact. Well I guess that would be based on perspective. anyway here are some sites.
www.match.com - America's #1 Romance site where you are evaluated and set up with a partner along similar interest.
www.mylanguageexchange.com - If you to trying to lean a new language why not go to the source? Want to learn Chinese Mandarin, then become e-penpals with a Chinese person and help them learn your native language and culture as well.
www.woome.com - this is like myspace with webcams, you can actually chat face to face with people, but not actually in person.
www.nambla.com -Let me start off with YUCK! National Man Boy Love Association... This site it so adult men and diddle little boys this site should not be legal.
www.kkk.com - if you cannot figure this one out then you should stop reading my blog.
www.crackberry.com - For people who own blackberries to chat on new apps and uses and software for you blackberry phone

Class work FCC new regulation
In a nutshell the FCC has passed new laws to prohibit content filtering by competitors of various carriers. For example I have Charter Internet service in my home, and lets say I visit a site like ESPN. Which I believe is Verizon based. Since Charter and Verizon are in competition with each other Charter would then slow my connection to the Verizon site/downloads/information because it is not one of its own sites. Along with tiered access to the web. Where as if i have the $19.99 package from Verizon Internet I have the basic connection and if i get the $49.99 package I would receive the faster exclusive less advertised version of verison of Verizon Internet. These are just examples and not actual rates.

Annoying Pet-Peves
As I go along I can not be all happy and bubbly in this blog. So I will make light note of things at tick me off... I tried blogging from my cell phone yesterday but it did not seem to work yet. I was at work yesterday while the Pats dismal game against the NY Jets was on. I kept a radio glued to my hip and ran as often as possible to watch the game in the electronics department (real professional). Afterwards I left work passing though the mall and bumped into a woman in line wearing a Brady Jersey. She of course saw my Pats hat and began conversation with me about the team and how much she loved them and football and Brady has her love child ....blah bla blah bla blah. I finished the conversation with what brings her to the mall at such an intense time for the Pats. She looked puzzled by my statement and I told her the Pats game just ended and they lost...She didn't know. I hate fakes. On another more light sports fact... There is a gentleman in my class with the name Phil Jackson just like the Lakers coach, pretty coool!

day three... I'm running out of creative day names
I am sitting in class... If you see i have some new followers, no they are not really interested in what I have to say. They are just my classmates looking at what is up with the rest of us who go drafted into this blog project. When you're put on the spot its hard to think of something to write about. Stuff you find interesting in you're own head seems really lame in font. I could just type my lecture in here and use it as a reference while Prof. Lowney WHO IS ON MY FRIENDS tweets about class material.

Day Numero two-o
I am in class now and have to post 5 facts that catch my eye on the site internetworldstats.com. From what I can interpit 1/4 of the Chinese population has active access to the internet. Which I often thought would be a much lower number even for the given billions of people who reside in China. Which actually accounts for 48% of the people in China who are online. As expected North Korea reported no numbers as Kim Jong Il each of those 22 million lives with his will. When I was browsing over European number I was surprised to see most countries had relatively high numbers, with Iceland topping the list at 89.3%with several other countries : Norway, Netherlands and Andorra ...where ever that is all in the mid 80s. Countries in conflict with the United States report low numbers as well. I do not know if this is expected or not but Iraq .6% of their population of some 28 million. I could not even find numbers for Afganistan. I may add more later just wanted to fill my facts for now.

Day Uno about me I guess
I set up my page today since Professor Lowney, let us out early. I really don't know what to put here so I will just ramble for today and see what comes of it. Or just give the 411 on myself. I'm a pretty random guy... its a polite way to say weird. This blog is for my Internert Communications Class. I just set this blog up so I can use it with my BlackBerry so I should post as frequently as needed for class, if you need a hand doing this let me know, I'm becomming pretty tech-smart-ish. As for today I'm gonna go finish my homework and play with Bob (my pup). No I did not pick the name Bob, and i don't like it ha but I like him. I wanted like toughguy name like Brutus. I mean come on Brutus killed Julius Ceasar! You don't get more bad ass then that. My other option would have been Patton like the general. I think Bob works well though. He is only a year old and kind of a wuss. A lot of fun!!!! But a wuss. :( Anyway, I will finish this blog with a funny joke I read in yes...Readers Digest, Idk why but I look foreward to the mag every month.
It is well documented that Winston Churchill the famed former Prime Minister of England and the Nancy Astor the first woman elected to Parliament did not get along well at all. In a heated arguement, over what I do not know Nancy shouted. "Mr. Churchill if you were my husband I'd put poison in your tea!" To which SIR Winston Churchill replied "Ma'am if you were my wife I would drink it!"
