Class work FCC new regulation
In a nutshell the FCC has passed new laws to prohibit content filtering by competitors of various carriers. For example I have Charter Internet service in my home, and lets say I visit a site like ESPN. Which I believe is Verizon based. Since Charter and Verizon are in competition with each other Charter would then slow my connection to the Verizon site/downloads/information because it is not one of its own sites. Along with tiered access to the web. Where as if i have the $19.99 package from Verizon Internet I have the basic connection and if i get the $49.99 package I would receive the faster exclusive less advertised version of verison of Verizon Internet. These are just examples and not actual rates.
